READY PLAYER ONE
The first time I
heard about “Ready player one” was when the movie trailer was published. It
caught my attention immediately because of the several animation, game and
movie references from the 80s up to our time. While listening to the book, I
kept imagine living in a virtual reality world and play games as part of your
daily routine. The idea of having VR classrooms blew my mind. Infinite
resources and detailed multi media presentations can improve the education and
encourage students to participate voluntarily instead of forcefully sitting in
class and pretend to be listening. I believe it is possible even with the
current technology to set up courses using VR but it would be costly since it
is a growing and relatively new technology.
At some point in
the story when Wade is searching to collect keys, he has to act as the
character in an old movie. This could be an interesting concept for a video
game. Imagine playing as your favorite character in a movie you have probably
watched multiple times since you were a kid. The game concept can be either
following the exact narrative or only using the original film/animation as an
overall concept and give players more options to play the game.
